I searched for ages for a Skype call recorder. Now I've finally found one and I don't need it! :( Still... looks cool.Posted by James at 12:24 PM. Filed under: Quick Bits •

A pretty cool video showing how the batman logo has evolved over time. It's interesting to note how the basic design, twisted and distorted though it is, can always be linked back to the character of Batman.Posted by James at 05:08 AM. Filed under: Quick Bits •

Some nice work done here. I wonder how cost prohibitive it is to have custom shapes in glass and plastic.Posted by James at 04:10 PM. Filed under: Quick Bits •

And part two of my NYC Comic Convention post awaits below!
Comics/Publishers
Furyfiles.com - A cool promo handout was an eyepatch with this URL on it. Nick Fury ftw! Sadly the site itself lacks direction and I'm not even sure what it's promoting, possibly a new toy line? Cool video on the front page though.
MetroOrange Art - They had some great/odd art prints available at the con.
Toys
ToyTokyo - Vendor of odd and cool toys, I nearly bought the Obama hope edition action figure.
Design on the Run - Toy and Packaging on the run.
Kuso Toys - Alt-Toy clearing house with some cool, if expensive stuff.
Jared Deal - Cool vinyls
ESC-TOY - Yet even more vinyl
Movies/TV
Escape Pod Films - Youtube published short
Illustrators & Artists
Kanokid - Awesome style
Erik Sones - Great illustrations which bring the sexy back. My GF purchased one of his prints and was very pleased.
Little Cartoons - Very nice stuff here
Lou Pimentel - Had a great business card
Other
Comic Cubes - Fancy storage for your comic collection. I liked them but found them a bit too pricey.
Myplasticheartnyc - The about section is coming soon but it looks like a gallery featuring cartoon style art.
Popular Printing - Online printing service based in NYC, I liked their flyer.
Asterios Polyp - A graphic novel.

So as is custom (ok I've done this once before) after hitting up the New York Comic Convention. I'm going through my list of business cards and flyers from the con and posting links to the various artists and companies that I recieved and thought interesting. I like to think of it as my small gift to them. Just a tiny bit of google juice from my infrequently updated blog. This will be the first post in a series as I have time to go througth the stack and I'd expect 3 posts in total with the last containing links to pictures and final thoughts. With that said, let the linkage begin!
Artists
Jusscope - A loose and cartoony illustration style. Some great example pics to look through.
Foox U - Toys, buttons and other art projects
Paolo River - Comic illustrator and painter. His blog had some nice tips on using Google Sketchup to help with backgrounds.
Grace Lee - Playful illustrations and cartoons. I really loved her work at the con and so did my GF who bought a pocket calendar from her.
Stores
MidTown Comics - The best comic book store in NYC.
Nerdcore Calendars - Nude women in nerdy settings. A fun take on the pin-up girl calendar. NSFW!
Web Comics
Daydream Comics - Growing up... illustrated
Moves & TV
Krod Mandoon and the Flaming Sword of Fire - A comedy fantasy? Ok... why not.
Dr. Shroud - This looks interesting, an animated series for the web and mobile phone. Something involving vampries apparently. Must look into more when I have a moment. Nice face sticker give-away at the con!
Other
The Joe Kubert School of Cartoon and Graphic Art, Inc. - Shame about the dated web design. Learn the art of comics from a pro!
Comixup - Comics News, Reviews and Community
